CMWC Gagetown

Where it All Began

The Canadian Military Wives Choir(CMWC) movement continued its growth when The CMWC Gagetown was created in November 2017. The choir started with three members from already established choirs, who were newly posted in, to create the 20+ choir members we have today!

The CMWC Gagetown is an all female, 3-part choir, consisting of Alto, Soprano 1 and Soprano 2. They are welcome to CAF Spouses/Partners, Active and Retired CAF members.

Practices run Tuesday evenings 6:30PM-8:00PM September - May at St. Luke's Chapel, on base.

You are encouraged to ‘Like’, ‘Follow’ and ‘Share’, them on Facebook to follow the latest information. http://www.facebook.com/CMWCgagetown

Choir Performances

Over the years we’ve had some unique opportunities which have helped form a strong bond and bring excitement to the members and community.

Highlights include:

  • The amphitheater in Saint Andrews NB, twice!

  • The Royal Regimental Band for Canada Day.

  • Performing alongside Robert Pilon, The Elm City Echoes and friends.

  • Singing at the Wounded Warriors Atlantic Gala, and the 5CDSB 60th Anniversary Gala.

  • Fredericton Music Festival, and

  • various performances for the former CTC Commander.

Some of our regular yearly performances include singing for our Veterans and family at local Legions and Regiments, Christmas carolling,

Valentine’s Sing-o-Grams,  and sing-alongs at special care homes. Numerous National Anthems at local Hockey games, MFRC events and most

recently a Spring Finale Concert. The choir is learning to persevere in a post-covid era. They continue to build on their success from their most recent season. The choir is eagerly awaiting more bookings for this new upcoming season!

We look forward to singing with you soon!

Musical Director: Pascale (Beaulieu) Butt

Pascale (Beaulieu) Butt has been an integral part of our CWMC Gagetown family since 2022,inspiring us with her remarkable talent and dedication. As a new military wife since 2021, she has often expressed her gratitude for the sense of community and understanding of military life that we have provided.

Throughout her time with us, Pascale has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, seamlessly taking on the director role, and singing alto or supporting other sections as needed. Her passion for music is contagious, and her expertise has been a valuable asset to our team.

Pascale had always dreamed of becoming an opera star and began to fulfill her vision by training full-time from the ages of 19 to 31, a testament to her perseverance and love for classical singing. With much hard work, her tenacity and her love of classical singing she has worked diligently to obtain a three-octave range that goes from an F3 upwards to F6 and she continues to push boundaries and inspire us with her talent.

Pascale was classically trained first at McGill University under the guidance of Professor Winston Purdy, a gifted baritone whom had a distinguished career as a vocal soloist and pedagogue. She then joined the class of the eminent Professor Catherine Sevigny, Mezzo-Soprano at the University of Montreal, where she received her degree in Vocal Performance. This training has equipped her with the skills and knowledge to excel in her craft. During this time Pascale also took some conductor classes, which has come in quite handy throughout her career.  Pascale has of course performed often as a solo artist, as well as in many ensembles.

Pascale’s experience as a solo artist and ensemble performer has been invaluable, and we are fortunate to have her share her gift with us. Pascale is a shining example of kindness, generosity, and humility, with a heart of gold and a voice that touches the soul. Her dedication to her craft is evident in every performance, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside her.

Pascale’s diverse talents extend beyond music; she is an avid runner who competes in numerous 10k races throughout the Maritimes, demonstrating her discipline and perseverance.

We are thrilled to have Pascale as our Music Director and look forward to a harmonious collaboration that will elevate our music program to new heights.
