FALL 2025 UPDATE:
Celebrating Invictus & 12 Years of Harmony, Strength, and Sisterhood!
This year, the Canadian Military Wives Choirs proudly celebrates 12 years of music, friendship, and connection. Since our beginnings in 2013, what started as a small group of military spouses and partners seeking community through song has grown into a powerful, coast-to-coast network. Together, we have sung through every posting, deployment, and homecoming — supporting one another with the same courage and compassion that define our military families.
Our motto, “Stronger Together,” remains at the heart of everything we do. It reminds us that when we raise our voices as one, we find strength, resilience, and belonging. As we start our new season across the country, our hearts sing proud as we welcome new members, new connections and new opportunities.
In February 2025, we were honoured to perform again as a nationwide choir at the Invictus Games, this time in Whistler, BC. Standing side by side, representing our choirs from across the country, we sang not only for ourselves, but for the entire military community — those who serve, those who support, and those who inspire.
The Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, is an international sporting event celebrating the unconquered spirit of wounded, injured, and ill service members and veterans. Through adaptive sports, the Games shine a light on recovery, rehabilitation, and the power of camaraderie — values that resonate deeply with our choir family. The 2025 Games in Whistler and Vancouver brought together participants from around the world in a celebration of courage, hope, and unity.
We are filled with gratitude for every member, conductor, and supporter who has been part of our journey. Twelve years on, our harmony is stronger, our bonds are deeper, and our hearts are full. Here’s to the next decade of harmony, hope, and being Stronger Together.

FALL 2023 UPDATE:
CMWC is Ten Years Old! We just celebrated our 10th birthday in September!
As we reflect on the first ten years of CMWC in Canada, we express our gratitude to those first ladies who took a chance and planted the seeds of an organization they believed in and hoped would flourish. Thankfully, these ten years have seen exponential growth in both choirs and CMWC membership. Today our choirs are hives of activity, hosting all kinds of events, singing at community events and preparing to sing at an upcoming international event. Military life can mean separations, parenting on our own, deployments and courses for our serving members. This brings real challenges, and we are glad our organization can provide a respite, distraction, friendship, fun and support to our members and their families. We are looking forward to the next ten years of our incredible organization!
MARCH 2023 UPDATE:
Our AGM was held in early March and we have a new Board of Directors! We are grateful for the outgoing Board who have contributed to the CMWCs across Canada, especially in the unusual times we found ourselves in over the last couple of years. We are excited to be moving forward with our new Board and some very exciting collaborations on the horizon! Watch this space for our upcoming events!
Are you interested in helping guide our choirs from a national perspective? These dedicated volunteers support members from coast to coast and are vital in the growth of our organization to new levels. Below are some of the expectations of each role on the CMWC Association Board of Directors. We have just formed our new Board, but if you are interested in a position for the future, check these out.
JANUARY 2023 UPDATE
Our choirs are back to rehearsing and performing, as we love to do! Please look out for our posts and updates on our social media platforms to see where we are performing near you! As always, your support and donations are gratefully accepted and appreciated. We really are Stronger Together!
SEPTEMBER 2022 UPDATE
It has been a rocky few years for everyone and now more than ever our choirs are needed to help elevate a society that has been ravaged by a pandemic; to bring communities back together, supporting one another and enjoying each others company and comeraderie. The social isolation, fatigue and struggles many faced during the pandemic are to many military spouses a normal feeling during their spouse’s deployments, taskings, exercise trainings and courses. Many live far away from their families and cannot lean on them for support, our CMW Choirs band together in times of need and support those who need it. With the constant pandemic mandates many of our choirs are suffering financially and their volunteer committees are strained to work effectively, some have even lost their practice/meeting spaces. If you are able, please consider making a donation to your local CMW Choir to help them get their feet back underneath them so they can once again stand up and sing with confidence supporting military, their families and the broader community in general. Reach out to a choir today to inquire about a performance or offer an honorarium for their continued community spirit through song.
SEPTEMBER 2021 UPDATE
Many of our choirs have been able to reopen following strict provincial, federal and local guidelines. After numerous isolations and being away from choir for over a year we are ready to return to help maintain good mental health. However, we are proceeding cautiously.
COVID-19 UPDATE: MARCH 2021
The Canadian Military Wives Choirs Association continues to monitor news and collect vetted information about the impact of COVID-19 on choirs in Canada.
At this time the Canadian Military Wives Choirs Association have paused all in person meetings, practices and events until we are confident that singing poses no risk to our singers or others in all of our choirs across Canada.
We are still available on a virtual basis, whether socially or virtual performing. If you would like to feature our Virtual Choir video as part of your event, please contact us below.
