Who We Are
The Canadian Military Wives Choir (CMWC) North Bay is a welcoming, non-auditioned
three-part choir (Soprano 1, Soprano 2, and Alto). Our mission is to bring together women with
a connection to the Canadian Armed Forces, whether currently serving or retired members,
military spouses, girlfriends, sisters, mothers, or members of the Department of National
Defence community during their time at 22 Wing.
We are passionate about sharing the joy of music. In addition to performing at public events, we
also strive to bring free performances to audiences who may not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy live music, spreading our love of the musical arts throughout the community.
CMWC North Bay was founded in 2016 by Rosanna Matheson in partnership with Brenda
McLay, who became the choir’s first Music Director. Together, they attended the 22 Wing
Welcome to recruit members for this brand-new ensemble.

Our Favourite Performances
Over the years, the Canadian Military Wives Choir North Bay has been honoured to share our voices at some truly memorable events.
Highlights include:
Performing the national anthem for the Chief of Defence Staff General Jennie Carignan at her honorarium ceremony at Huntington
University, a moment of pride and deep respect for our military community.
We’ve also had the incredible experience of partnering with our sister choirs at the Invictus Games first in 2017 and
again in 2024.
Closer to home, singing at North Bay’s annual Remembrance Day Ceremony remains one of
our most meaningful traditions, allowing us to honour those who serve and have served.
And of course, our performances at the 22 Wing Band Concert are always a highlight of our year; an
uplifting celebration of music, community, and camaraderie.
